Jack McConnell’s Cheesy Beanos

“I have been mocked for my Cheesy Beanos since I was teenager – but for comfort food after a hard day’s work when you just want to sit down in front of the TV and you need something quick that will fill you up, Cheesy Beanos really can’t be beaten!”

Baron McConnell of Glenscorrodale. former First Minister of Scotland

Baron McConnell of Glenscorrodale is a Scottish politician and a labour life peer in the House of Lords.  He served as First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish Labour Party from 2001 to 2007.  But when he is at home eating “Cheesy Beanos” he is just Jack!

It was Jack who instigated the focus of Scotland’s international development policy on Malawi, making small grants available to Scottish organisations working in Malawi.  He retains a strong interest in developing the relationship between the two countries including through the McConnell International Foundation.
