Susan Dalgety
Susan is a writer and an adviser to a charity that focuses on girls’ education in Malawi. Her first book The Spirit of Malawi (Luath Press) is a contemporary portrait of the country, one of the poorest in the world. She has nearly two decades experience working there.

Sue Davie
Sue is a qualified accountant and has more than 20 years’ experience in the charity sector including as Finance Director and CEO of Meningitis Now. Recently retired, Sue has a busy portfolio of voluntary roles including as a Family Court Magistrate, helping at her village community shop and primary school, and as Trustee/Treasurer for SAFE!, a charity supporting young victims of crime and abuse in the Thames Valley.

Robin Garrett
Robin is Olivia’s husband and a former commercial real estate lawyer. He now owns a company which provides outsourced services to small/medium law firms.

Olivia Giles
A quadruple amputee herself, Olivia is the Chief Executive and founder of 500 miles, having established the charity in 2007. A former lawyer, Olivia was awarded an OBE in 2010 for services to disabled people and the Robert Burns Humanitarian Award in 2015.

Jane Salmonson
Jane is the Director of Firefly International, an international charity based in Edinburgh which helps war-affected children.

Shruti Turner
Shruti Turner is currently a Data Scientist. She secured her PhD in Prosthetic Rehabilitation from the Centre for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College London in 2021. She has a keen interest in using data to deliver user centred solutions in healthcare, as you can see from her excellent TEDxYouth Talk given in 2020, Prosthetics under Pressure.
