Ade Adepitan’s Pisco Sour

“I first tried a Pisco Sour when I was in Lima, Peru and it’s absolutely lovely!”

Ade Adepitan, Television presenter and Paralympian

Ade Adepitan MBE, is a Nigerian born British television presenter and wheelchair basketball player.  Ade was a member of the Great Britain wheelchair basketball team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens and the gold medal at the 2005 Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.  As a presenter, he has hosted a range of travel documentaries and sports programmes for the BBC.

Ade’s wife, Linda, asked him why there are only 3 glasses out for a recipe for 4 people and he says it’s because 2 of those people are Scottish!

Ade Adepitan’s Pisco Sour

Ingredients (serves 4):

100mls of lime juice (approx. 3 limes)

Ice

2 egg whites

100mls simple sugar syrup (made by boiling water and sugar until all the sugar has dissolved)

100mls Pisco

Angostura Bitters

Method:

  1. Reserve 2 slices of lime for garnish.
  2. Squeeze the limes for the 100mls of their juice.
  3. Put some ice cubes into an electric blender (or a cocktail shaker) and add all of the other ingredients and blend for about 10 seconds – or shake until the mixture is thick and white and frothy.
  4. Pour into 4 “flash” cocktail glasses and garnish with half a slice of lime and 3 drops of the bitters.
