Trans-radial cosmetic hand: £90
This is a prosthesis which replaces the hand and arm below the elbow. It does not function like a hand although it can be put into a position in which it can hold certain items.
In many places in Africa, people with disabilities are still regarded as second class. It is therefore unsurprising that someone who has lost an arm or hand will be very happy to wear a cosmetic prosthesis, even if it is not functional, so that, without close inspection, he or she will pass as “normal” – much less vain than a half head of highlights at the hairdressers.
