This is a custom-made device replacing a leg which has been amputated above the knee.

It’s an expensive device – and quite heavy and cumbersome to wear – but to users, even if they can’t walk long distances and are not very nimble, it is worth its weight in gold because it’s hard to put a value on independent mobility – although you maybe can if you buy a daily newspaper – it’s about what you’ll spend on that in a year.
