Frank Chiona, now 9, was born with a club foot on his left side. From birth, various methods were applied to try to train his foot into the correct position before he began to walk, aged 4. Unfortunately, the leg became weak and didn’t grow as much as the right one and Frank developed “drop foot”. In 2018, Frank was referred to 500 miles for an ankle foot orthosis (brace) to support the drop foot and a shoe raise to compensate for the leg length discrepancy. Frank visited 500 miles again in June 2020 because he had worn out and outgrown the device. Here he is with his new brace and 3cm shoe raise.
