The BIG Dinner Inspiration

There is no format for the BIG dinner 2. All we ask is that you enjoy yourself while raising funds for 500 miles.

Here is Nick Nairn, celebrity and Michelin star chef  – and the official chef of the BIG dinner 2 – to inspire you:

“Having seen what has been achieved through your support of the BIG dinner in 2015, I am delighted to be the official chef of the BIG dinner 2! I want to encourage and inspire you to invent, to cook, to host and enjoy each other’s company – and at the same time help to secure the future of prosthetic and orthotic services in Malawi – so I will be contributing my lockdown favourites to the BIG dinner 2’s Recipes & Tips page throughout the campaign.”

If you’re a morning person why not host a tasty breakfast, or treat your friends to coffee and croissants in a neighbourhood cafe?

There is nothing nicer than a leisurely lunch in your favourite restaurant, or a picnic on the beach.

You can show off your lockdown baking skills with a sumptuous afternoon tea in your local club or try out a classic cocktail with tasty nibbles.

Or you can host a fabulous dinner party, showcasing one of our fantastic recipes, or have a potluck supper where everyone brings a dish.

On our Recipes & Tips page, you’ll find lots of recipes and kitchen tips from friends and supporters of 500 miles to whet your appetite – but if you don’t like cooking, why not order a takeaway?

On our Templates page, you’ll find bespoke templates for your invitations, menus and place cards.
