Patrick and Ed Hudson and Clare Daniel are the children of Greta and John Hudson. They are friends of John Jellis who runs (and works for) FlySpec (one of the projects that 500 miles supports in Zambia). Patrick, Ed and Clare, with their children, got behind FlySpec in 2010 with two separate climbs of Mount Kilimanjaro. Patrick and Ed with their sons George and Charlie Hudson hit the summit first in the middle of August, raising £7,742.56 in sponsorship and Clare and her sons, Hugo and Rowland Daniel, completed their challenge in the last week of the same month. The Daniels’ efforts were increased to a total of £5,005.26 by donations earned when Clare talked at The British Ladies Society dinner in Kuwait (where she lives) on 1st November. The total raised by the Hudson family for FlySpec (with the Gift Aid that 500 miles was able to claim for them) was an enormous £12,747.82 which has already been made over to FlySpec.
